Amata Country Club

Slightly better view of the hole from the 18th

Hit your tee shot, put it on the green, get in the boat and motor to the hole for your birdie putt

We moved to Thailand after 4 days in the Philippines to review operations in Thailand.  Unfortunately there was no time for golf but we visited Amata Country Club about 90 minutes from downtown Bangkok.  We had lunch there and had a view of the course but had no time to play (this time!).  Amata has been a former European Tour venue and Tiger Woods has also played here as his picture is prominently displayed in the clubhouse.  The course is long at 7505 yards from the tips and 6900 yards from the members’ tees.  The slope from the member tees is a comfortable 127 so its very playable.  The signature hole is a island green where you arrive by boat to either take your double bogey or worse hitting it in the lake or celebrating your good fortune of having a birdie putt.  We’ll be back here in a year’s time and next time we’ll play here first before our business review.
