Pebble Beach Homeowner’s Tournament-12/19/16

by | Dec 20, 2016

Frost delay at Pebble Beach driving range-35 degrees at 8AM.  Tournament got off on time but it was coldddddd and windyyyyyyy!

We started on the 14th hole (550 yard-par 5) and I started off with a poor tee shot only 175 yards down the left side of the fairway.  After 2 three woods (the second one was horribly pulled), I had a 155 yards left and nailed a 6 iron to 8 feet and made the putt for an opening par.  I thought the day would possibly be a good as I parred the next 4 holes.  Of course, I wobbled and our team ended up at -5 for the two best ball event which was for 5th place.  I shot 80.  The winners were -11 which was very good in these conditions.  The day continued to improve as we played.  It’s a fun event and a great way to play Pebble.  Good news was that I stopped into the Pebble Beach retail shop to see Golf Chronicles on sale.  I identified myself to the staff as the author and they were surprised to meet the author and said that they were enjoying the book.  This made my day.
