My third book, PARdon Me, has been published and will be available on April 29.
PARdon Me is another series of stories, experiences and vignettes in all aspects of the golf experience. In this book, I have anointed North Berwick Golf Club in Scotland as my favorite course. North Berwick’s 16th hole graces the cover of PARdon Me. For the first time, I have highlighted my best par 3 holes that I have played in the world by hole number. The book covers a wide range of topics from the misery of slow play to the unspeakable horror of the “shanks.” My opinions on most of these topics are clear and designed for the reader to engage in the topic from multiple points of view.
I am particularly proud of the work of the publisher, Silicon Valley Press, for producing a readable and attractive form factor for the reader. This is my first book that has pictures designed to illustrate the stories being narrated. I also want to thank NFL, Hall of Fame quarterback, Steve Young, for his contribution to the Foreword of the book. Unlike football, golf has always proven to be an elusive challenge for Steve who continues to improve his game.
Golf is a microcosm of life and my experiences all over the world prove the relevance of this great game to all that play at it and even those that just watch it or are impacted by it. PARdon Me is more than just a book about golf-it’s a celebration of patience, persistence, camaraderie and the endless pursuit of improvement.
All proceeds from book sales are donated to collegiate golf programs and The First Tee. Amateur golf is the future of the game and support for these programs will enable the game to thrive.
I hope you will enjoy PARdon Me as much as I did writing it. Please spread the good word throughout your circle of friends, relatives and non-golfers alike to pick up my new book.
